There are several Committees that work with the Board in meeting the Club's mission and goals. These Committees are as follows:
Finance. The Finance Committee is charged with the responsibility of preparing annual budgets and controlling the financial integrity of the club. The Committee formulates and recommends to the Board of Directors policies that ensure the financial success of the club. The Finance Committee ensures that fees, charges, and projected club usage are sufficient to meet budget objectives, and monitors the budget process. The Committee works with the Chairs of other committees to develop strategies key to capital development. The Club Treasurer chairs the Finance Committee and reports to the Executive Committee. The Committee obtains the services of a CPA firm for the purpose of an annual, independent audit of the club's books. Club management working closely with this Committee is the Business Manager.

Golf. The Golf Committee ensures that a comprehensive, quality program of golf play, instruction, and competition is available to members and their guests. The Committee shall ensure that play is conducted under the USGA rules of golf and shall maintain the integrity of the club's handicap system. The Committee shall work with the Golf Professional to develop programs, enforce policies, monitor goals of the golf program, and to ensure the quality operation of the Golf Shop. The Committee shall recommend fees to the Board of Directors, and shall coordinate activities with the Greens and Grounds Committee. The Committee shall be involved in the selection of the Golf Professional, and shall monitor the performance of the Golf Shop staff. The Chair shall report to the Board of Directors. The Golf Professional shall meet with the Committee at all scheduled meetings. Club management working closely with this Committee is the Golf Professional.

Greens and Grounds. The Greens and Grounds Committee shall be responsible for the proper maintenance and development of the Golf Course and grounds of the club. The Committee shall ensure that long-range plans for meeting this responsibility are in place and shall work with the Finance and Long-Range Planning Committee to implement a program of equipment replacement. The Committee shall monitor the health of the course and ensure that playing conditions are compatible to competitive play and that maintenance concerns are given due consideration in determining playability of the course. The Committee shall work with the Superintendent in the budget process and shall serve as liaison between management, committees, and the membership to ensure membership satisfaction. Strong consideration of sound agronomic principles must be integral to the decision-making process. The Committee Chair shall report to the Board. The Golf Professional and Superintendent shall meet with the Committee at all scheduled meetings. The Committee shall charge the Golf Professional with the authority to close the course because of adverse weather or turf conditions and deny use of golf carts. The Committee shall coordinate maintenance schedules with the Golf Committees schedule of events.

House and Pool. The House and Pool Committee is charged with monitoring member use of the clubhouse and ensuring that services, facilities, and conditions are consistent with club standards. In addition, the Committee is charged with overseeing the successful operation of the pool facilities to include services of the snack bar, guard staff, and to assess the overall conditions of the facility to ensure safety, and enjoyment of the pool facilities and its services by the membership.
As related to the Clubhouse, the Committee shall assist club management in preparation of annual budgets relevant to maintenance of facilities, food and beverage operations, and through this process shall maintain pricing strategies. The Committee shall assess member satisfaction, and shall establish, communicate, and enforce house rules with the assistance of the club management. The Committee shall monitor capital improvement programs which shall encompass all club buildings, structures, and related equipment.
As related to the Pool, the Committee shall coordinate with club management and establish goals and monitor satisfaction. The Chair shall report to the Board of Directors. The Committee shall assist in the budget process to ensure capital replacement. The Committee shall enforce and communicate the rules of the pool and shall monitor fees to ensure appropriateness. The Committee shall empower the Manager over the Pool to operate the pool consistent with its goals and shall set definitive guidelines for pool closing due to adverse weather. The Committee shall ensure that the guard staff observes and enforces all safety rules and is competent to provide for lifesaving and instructional services. Club management working with this Committee is the Food and Beverage Director.

Long-Range Planning Committee. The Long-Range Planning Committee is charged with developing and maintaining a comprehensive three-to-five year plan, consistent with the club's mission statement, which addresses all major facets of the club's character, facilities, and services--including membership, finances, and physical plant. The Committee reports to the Board and coordinates its activities with the Board, key Committees, and club management. The Committee shall review needs for all services and programs and assess membership satisfaction and inclination by contact through surveys and focus groups. The Committee shall monitor social, legal, economic trends to aid in the constant review of the club's long-range plans and shall recommend appropriate modification of plans to ensure the overall integrity of the club. The Committee shall coordinate with the Finance Committee to ensure financial harmony and shall monitor the membership and community to ensure the compatibility of the long-range plan with the needs of the membership and the competitive forces of the market place.

Membership. The Membership Committee is charged with developing programs to attract and maintain members that agree with the philosophy, mission, and goals of the club . The Committee shall evaluate persons nominated for membership and shall pass their recommendations to the Board. The Committee shall ensure that new members are properly introduced to the club and shall develop and coordinate a program of orientation. The Committee shall maintain data on dues and entry fees and shall provide the Board with comparative data from other clubs as needed. The Committee shall review and update all policies regarding membership and shall recommend changes to the Board. The Committee shall coordinate activities with club management and shall report to the Directors. The Committee shall ensure that all actions taken regarding membership are in keeping with club policy. Club management working with this Committee is the Director of Marketing.

Social. The Social Committee shall be charged with developing a comprehensive social program of club activities and ensuring attendance and participation. The Committee shall coordinate with club management and shall report to the Board of Directors. The Committee shall recommend an operating budget for entertainment expenses. The Committee shall ensure that member satisfaction is achieved through its social programs.

Swim Team. The Swim Team Committee shall be charged with the responsibility of developing a comprehensive competitive program for interested club swimmers. The Committee shall coordinate with club management and the Swim Team Coach. The chair shall report to the Board and shall make budgetary requests to provide for swim team needs (staffing and equipment). The Committee shall work with club management to hire a swim coach and shall set appropriate goals for the coach and team. The Committee shall determine and set appropriate fees to provide services necessary to the program.

Tennis. The Tennis Committee is charged with providing a comprehensive program of instruction, social competitions, age and competence group competitions, interclub competitions, and facilities for member participation and enjoyment. The Committee coordinates with the Tennis Professional and the Chair shall report to the Board. The Committee shall recommend budgetary expenses to provide for facility improvement and recreational opportunities of the membership. The Committee shall enforce the rules and policies of club tennis with the assistance of club management the Tennis Professional. The Committee shall monitor and recommend appropriate fees for services and use. The Committee shall generate an annual schedule of competitive and social events and will work with the club management to ensure the success of these events. |
